# Secure documents

# Secure documents {#ariaid-title1}

Add an extra layer of security on documents that are linked to a case. Grant access to documents with sensitive or private data to groups, users, user criteria or roles.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_hr_core.case_writer  
Note:  
Ensure that the Document Management \[com.snc.platform_document_management\] plugin is installed.

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllAgent Workspace for HR Case Management.
2. From Lists, select an HR case.
3. Navigate to MoreDocuments.
4. Select the required document.
5. Review the following tabs to perform the necessary actions.

   | Details | Change the access settings from By referenced records to Sharing Permissions. Note: This is a mandatory step. |
   | Role Permissions | To grant access to a document based on a role: 1. Click New. The Role Permissions modal opens. 2. In the Permission list, select Reader or Writer. 3. In the User Role field, select a value. 4. Click Save. {#add-document-aws__ol_fzx_1s1_pzb} |
   | User Criteria Permissions | To grant access to a document based on user criteria: 1. Click New. The User Criteria Permissions modal opens. 2. In the Permission list, select Reader or Writer. 3. In the User Criteria field, select a value. 4. Click Save. {#add-document-aws__ol_a5b_fs1_pzb} |
   | User Permissions | To grant access to a document based on user permissions: 1. Click More. 2. Select User Permissions. 3. Click New. The User Permissions modal opens. 4. In the Permission list, select Reader or Writer. 5. In the User field, select a value. 6. Click Save. {#add-document-aws__ol_bmj_ms1_pzb} |
   | Group Permissions | To grant access to a document based on group permissions: 1. Click More. 2. Select Group Permissions. 3. Click New. The Group Permissions modal opens. 4.
