# First time log in as a contractor

# Log in to the Contractor Service Center for the first time as a contractor {#ariaid-title1}

You can log in to the Contractor Service Center and create various health and safety requests, or access knowledge articles.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_hs_csc.contractor

## Procedure

1. Open the email titled Join the Contractor Service Center.
2. Select the Access Portal button in the email.
3. For your first log in, enter the user name and a temporary password provided in the email.  
   You are asked to change the password and enter a new one. When the new password is set, and you can use it to log in to the contractor service portal.

## What to do next

Navigate on the contractor service center to perform various tasks to qualify you to work on the site. You can use the widgets on the Contractor Service Center to perform various tasks.

* Submit a safety incident to report it to the safety department for an investigation. * Submit a safety observation to report it to the safety department for an investigation. * Submit a permit-to-work request to carry out the job with significant risk. * Submit a job safety analysis (JSA) to identify potential hazards and control measures related to these hazards at your point-of-work.
