# Import outdoor elements

# Import outdoor elements {#ariaid-title1}

Import outdoor elements that you want to display on the indoor map. This can be a graphic element such as a logo or a an outdoor parking lot with parking spaces that needs to be created as Places.

## Before you begin

Role required: map admin, map editor, map editor limited

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllIndoor MappingMap Studio.
2. Select a campus to add to your outdoor layer.
3. Navigate to Manage WorkplaceFloor \& Floorplans.
4. Add a new source and select the file you would like to import.

5. Click Continue.
6. Configure the raster source file.
7. Edit the georeference.

8. Select the layer type.
9. Click Start Import.
10. Create a place on your campus by selecting New point or New polygon.

11. Make sure that you select the floor on a campus.
12. Start creating directions.

Map administrators can manually draw lines on the floor map areas where people are allowed to walk within a building. This cannot be automated and has to be done manually.").
