Use theMap Preview to display maps and test directions that you have created in the Indoor Mapping Map Studio. Testing directions will ensure that directions graphs in wayfinding works as expected for employees and visitors.

## Before you begin

Note:
Step by step directions for wayfinding within workplaces are only available on the Now Mobile app.

Role required: map admin, map editor, map editor limited

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllIndoor MappingMap Studio.
2. Select a campus.
Create one if you do not have a campus in the map studio. For more information about how to create a campus, see [Create a campus with buildings and floors](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/ekw7u6JcV~9U3A_uFBIcRw "Create your first Indoor Mapping campus and add a few buildings and floors to it using the Indoor Mapping Map Studio. Import your CAD and raster image source files to complete your campus configuration.")
3. Click Preview.
The map opens in the Preview mode. If the view is not enabled, nothing will appear in Preview. For more information, see [Edit with view editor](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/Ho59XuqIVlo3RGxzCeBFow "Edit and customize indoor maps with the Map Studio view editor. Enabling the default view in Indoor Mapping is a mandatory step so that maps can render in Workplace Service Delivery.").
4. In the search field, search for places on the Campus, for example: Meeting room 101.
When you start typing in the search field, application provides auto-suggestions for places that are available in the selected campus.
5. Select a place to highlight and display it on the map.
   Figure 1. Map Preview
6. Select the Get Directions icon ( ![Change directions icon available on the search field in the map preview page]()) to open the change directions panel.
Application provides alerts if you have not added direction modes for your View type in a selected campus. Adding direction mode helps to enable direction in a building for wayfinding and location directory.
7. Specify the From and To fields to specify the floors from where you want to have the wayfinding capabilities.
8. You can also add directions from one building to another.
9. Select the required buildings in the From and To fields to display the directions.
For example: You can move from One building to another (Building A to B) on a
campus. Within the same building (Building B), you can select a floor (Floor
   3) and create directions for wayfinding from one space to another on Floor 3
   (B312 to B3.0053).

10. You can use the reverse direction icon ![toggle key to show reverse direction on the floor map for wayfinding]() available near the From and To fields to change the from and to options and reverse the directions.
11. Toggle between the View Types available on the top right menu (in case if you have multiple View types).
Select the buildings and floors that you want to show on the map. Zoom in and
    zoom out as required.

Change the Campus from the Campus drop-down list on
the top right menu on the map studio.
