# XmlTemplate connector methods {#ariaid-title1}

The XMLTemplate methods classify the templates and get the fields added to the
templates.

## Clasify {#connector-xmlTemplate-methods__section_z5y_v1j_vrb}

Classifies the template created. To see the steps to create templates, see [Use the XmlTemplate component](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/BlFufStNiivG0BJeExb7EQ "Create templates from existing XML or PDF documents by adding custom data or fields to the documents.").  
You must first configure the method before executing it. To configure, do the following steps.

1. Click the method settings icon (![Method settings icon.]()).
2. Select the required template.
3. Click OK.

## GetFields {#connector-xmlTemplate-methods__section_bps_q2j_vrb}

Returns the fields that were added to the template. You must configure the method before using it. To configure, do the following steps.

1. Click the method settings icon (![Method settings icon.]()).
2. Select the required template.
3. Select the corresponding field.A Data Out field is added with each field you
   select.

4. Click OK.
