Run an automation to execute the workflow in RPA Desktop Design Studio.

## Before you begin

Create an automation project. For more information, see [Create an automation project manually](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/AWk1N7HpDb9KptHd8bhehQ "Create an attended or unattended automation project manually in RPA Desktop Design Studio that enables you to automate tasks. You can create an automation project that is based on a prebuilt template and targeted at a use case, or you can create an automation project without using a template.") or [Create an automation with Now Assist](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/O6dGgUUtyse3o9qzFU619w "Create an automation from text instructions and preview options by using the ServiceNow Otto for RPA Hub application.").

## About this task

The Run option starts the execution from the Start component of the activity that is marked as startup.

## Procedure

1. In the RPA Desktop Design Studio, navigate to the Design tab.
2. Click Run.
3. **Optional:** To clear the runtime log, click Clear Log.
