Create a firmware model for the firmware that's embedded into your OT assets if the model isn't already represented in the Enterprise Asset Management
Content Service.

## Before you begin

Important:
The OT Asset Management application must be activated to access the OT Asset Workspace. For details, see [Install OT Asset Management](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/jNnD1rsrsZYUDuHl1GLdFA "You can install the OT Asset Management application (com.sn_otam) if you have the admin role. The application includes demo data and installs related ServiceNow Store applications and plugins if they aren’t already installed.").

The firmware product and the firmware version details should be available in the Enterprise Asset Management
Content Service. If not, you can also create the firmware product and the firmware version for your firmware model. For more details, see [Create a custom firmware product for your operational technology (OT) assets](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/a3VgSflpuKln6wVbLzjaTQ "If the firmware product that is embedded into your OT assets isn't already represented in the Enterprise Asset Management Content Service, create a custom firmware product.") and [Create a custom firmware version for your operational technology (OT) assets](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/nPMLgEcK6NzCqPEH8QiS8w "If the version of the firmware that is embedded into your OT assets isn't already represented in the Enterprise Asset Management Content Service, create a custom firmware version.").
