Upload documents from Document Management to external cloud like Microsoft OneDrive, Microsoft SharePoint, or Google Drive.

## Before you begin

[Activate Multi Provider Document Services Framework](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/c1Kh04R15MvRyJ4WsL~ktQ "You can activate the Multi Provider Document Services Framework plugin (com.snc.multiprovider_documents) for Document Services if you have the admin role.")  
For Microsoft OneDrive:

[Configure permission for roles or groups](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/zIUtvR0GbwiEiazLeztujQ "Configure permission for roles and groups for multi provider documents.") by selecting the mp_document_admin from the document list.

Role required: mp_document_admin

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllDocumentsDocuments.
2. Select an existing record or [create a document record](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/aldRiEIUBDxmSDXcyG0hig "Create document records and include default versions for the documents.").
3. For a newly created record, [create a document version](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/j9Os~D94zyDS4ooNq55qKg "Create a document version for each document.").
4. Select the Connect With External Provider check box.
5. Select Upload to Provider.
6. Select the external provider and enter the folder path.
7. Select Upload.  
   Note:  
   Only the latest version is uploaded.
8. Select the External Provider Settings tab to view the provider details and the external file URL.
9. Select Open Cloud URL at the top to open the document in the external cloud.
