Contributor User Roles and Capabilities
The feature includes several user roles designed to control access to cases, case tasks, and related customer information, assigned based on business needs. Key roles include:
- Requester for any customer: Can create cases for any customer via portals or communication channels. Roles: Account contributor, Consumer contributor.
- Requester for my customers: Creates and manages cases for customers with an established relationship. Role: Relationship contributor.

Key Case Form Enhancements
Two new fields identify the customer type on a case:
- Requesting Service Organization: Identifies the service organization as the customer when Account and Consumer fields are empty.
- Requested By: Identifies the employee requester when other customer fields are empty.
Additional contributor-related fields track users and groups assigned to case tasks, ensuring visibility and management of contributors involved in case resolution.
Creating and Viewing Cases
A customized record producer allows contributor users to create cases from portals, offering options tailored to their role and customer type (Account, Consumer, Business Location, or Self). The "My Lists" widget on portals presents filtered case views based on user roles, enabling contributors to efficiently access relevant cases.
Access and Management of Case Tasks
Case task agents can view and manage assigned tasks through dedicated widgets on dashboards and landing pages, with task details such as status, priority, and assignment displayed. Depending on roles, users have access to specific modules within the CSM Agent Workspace and Configurable Workspace to facilitate case and task management.
Customer Information Access for Case Task Agents
Case task agents have read-only access to essential customer details needed to resolve tasks, including:
- For B2B cases: Account and contact info, addresses, sold products, and install base.
- For B2C cases: Consumer and household info, including head of household and sold products.
- For business location cases: Service organization records and internal contacts.

This feature enables ServiceNow customers to streamline collaboration between different internal and external contributors, improving case resolution efficiency and customer support quality.
