    Map IP addresses to OT devices through the SyncIPAddressToOT scheduled job
    Use the SyncIPAddressToOT scheduled job to update and synchronize the IP address information for all the available OT devices. The scheduled job acquires the IP address information from the IP address [cmdb_ci_ip_address] table and adds it to the IP address field of the Configuration Item (CI).

    • Firmware Installation [cmdb_firmware_install], Key Value [cmdb_key_value], and Software Instance [cmdb_software_instance] tables were added as a related entry for OT classes.
    • The ire_criterion_attribute attribute was added to the OT Entity [cmdb_ot_entity] table to act as a criterion attribute for an OT entity-related entry.
    • Optional conditions to filter the records during identification and reconciliation were added to the OT identification rules.
    • The OT Class Mapping Template [ot_class_mapping_template] table was introduced to capture class mappings used for Service Graph Connectors.
    • Required conditions were added under Advanced Configuration that must be met for lookup identification rules.
    • Industrial printer (industrial_printer) was added as an OT device type.
    • The Quality Inspection Control System [cmdb_ci_ot_qics] class represents the control systems that assist in quality and inspection functions. This new class is a child class of the OT Control System [cmdb_ci_ot_control] class.
    • The Backup Storage Information [cmdb_backup_storage_information] class helps manage backups of your OT device data.
    • The OT System Service [cmdb_ci_ot_system_service] class can model OT systems and their related software, hardware, and communication network components, such as a Distributed Control System (DCS).
    • You can now bulk-validate NIDS records from the list view instead of validating each NIDS record individually.
    Pre-import OT Worksheet Entry Review (POWER) tool
    Use distributed Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to import OT devices for better manageability of your OT system and its devices. The POWER tool includes the following new features:
    • Firmware Installation records can be created when a firmware version is available.
    • OT entity update issues can be resolved through the Service Graph Connector for Microsoft Excel.
    • The new Industrial Core [com.sn_ot_core] plugin is required for class mapping when using the Service Graph Connector for Microsoft Excel.
    • Supports the import and classification of the Quality Inspection Control System [cmdb_ci_ot_qics] class. If you manually create an OT device in the SG-OT Excel Staging Table, the Quality Inspection Control System class is an option in the What is the type of OT device? task.
    • Supports capturing the Backup Storage Information [cmdb_backup_storage_information] class attributes on the staging table, staging table form, and the ETL.
    • Maps the Status field in a staging table record to the Life Cycle Stage and Life Cycle Status fields on a configuration item (CI) record. The Status field no longer maps to the Install Status field on a CI record.
    • Creates assets in the Industrial product model category for OT class devices. This enables compatibility with the Enterprise Asset Management product for full lifecycle management of OT class devices.

    The OT Manager dashboard in the Industrial Workspace was split up into the following tabs so that you can separately monitor your OT device data and OT vulnerability data:
    • OT Devices tab
    • OT Vulnerabilities tab
    Pre-import OT Worksheet Entry Review (POWER) tool

    • Software installed on the OT device if Software Asset Management isn't available.

    You can view these related lists on the ServiceNow AI Platform® and in the Industrial Workspace Admin.
    OT Excel SGC - Import Task list module in the Industrial Workspace
    The OT Excel SGC - Import Task list module has been added to the Industrial Workspace list view. From the available lists, you can access the import task functionality for the Service Graph Connector for Microsoft Excel.
    OT Excel SGC - Remediation Task list module in the Industrial Workspace
    The OT Excel SGC - Remediation Task list module has been added to the Industrial Workspace list view. From the available lists, you can access the remediation task records created from an import task.
    View and edit device to device connections
    The Device to Device Connections list has been added to the OT Network menu available in the Industrial Workspace List view. You can view the device connections in detail using this list. Also, the Device to Device Connections related list was added to the Related Records tab on the OT device record in the ServiceNow AI Platform.
    Is Virtual field for OT devices
    Identify whether an OT device is virtual through the Is Virtual field added to the OT device form in the Industrial Workspace.
    OT Subnet Mappings related list
    The OT Subnets related list has been renamed OT Subnet Mappings in both the Industrial Workspace and the ServiceNow AI Platform when viewing an OT device record.
    Manufacturer and Model Number fields
    The Manufacturer and Model Number fields have been removed from the OT device list and form views on both the ServiceNow AI Platform® and in the Industrial Workspace.
    OT Devices tab data
    The following data available in the OT Devices tab of the OT Manager dashboard has been moved to the Operational Technology Visibility dashboard.

    Use CMDB groups to add OT context to IT CIs
    When you use CMDB groups to add OT context to IT CIs, you can no longer create an Automated IT OT Bulk Contextualization record with more than 1 CMDB group.
    Automated IT OT Bulk Contextualization - Using CMDB groups scheduled job
    The Automated IT OT Bulk Contextualization - Using CMDB groups scheduled job can only process 10,000 CIs at one time. If you have more than 10,000 CIs, the remaining CIs will be processed in the next job run.
    Admin role dependency
    Several new granular admin roles enable developers to complete administrative configuration tasks without requiring the full admin role.
    IT Discovery for Operational Technology (OT) Networks
    The Discovery for Operational Technology plugin has been renamed IT Discovery for OT Networks.
    Operational Technology Manager roles

    The following changes have been made to Operational Technology Manager roles:

    • Users assigned the Operational Technology Manager Editor [cmdb_ot_editor] role or Operational Technology Manager Admin [cmdb_ot_admin] role cannot edit IT configuration items (CIs). Users with these roles can only edit or delete OT CIs.
    • Users who aren't assigned an OT role cannot view OT records in the following CMDB tables:
      • IP Address [cmdb_ci_ip_address]
      • Network Adapter [cmdb_ci_network_adapter]
      • Serial Number [cmdb_serial_number]
    • The Operational Technology Editor [cmdb_ot_editor] role contains the cmdb_manual_ci_ire_access role to support manually creating an OT CI in the Industrial Workspace.

    Removed

    Between your current release family and Zurich, some Operational Technology Manager features or functionality were removed.

    • The New button has been removed from the All OT Devices list view and its corresponding list views.
    • The New button has been removed from the Equipment Model Entities related list in the Quality Inspection Control System [cmdb_ci_ot_qics] form.
    • The following system properties were removed from the Service Graph Connector for Operational Technology (Excel):
      • sn_otsm_sgc.excel.nested.columns.max.level
      • sn_otsm_sgc.excel.nested.column.delimitter
    • The name validations for the OT devices that are classed as control modules in the SG OT Excel Stagings [sg_ot_excel_staging] table was removed.
    • The Name attribute was removed from the OT Control Module identification rules.
    • The ability to manually create Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) class records was removed.
    • Control modules are no longer shown in any list view except under OT Control Systems with Modules.
