# Modify a contract record

# Modify a contract record {#ariaid-title1}

After a contract record is created, you can change the end date, parent contract, and contract model.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn_lg_cnt.contract_fulfiller

## About this task

If changes are made to a contract end date or its terms and conditions, a copy of the contract is automatically saved and placed in contract history.

## Procedure

1. Navigate to your workspace.
2. Open the contract request.
3. Select a contract.
4. **Optional:** Modify the contract end date.
   1. In the End date field, select the Show End date calendar icon (![Show Start date calendar icon]()).
   2. In the calendar pop-up, select a date.
   3. Select OK.

5. **Optional:** Modify the parent contract.
   1. In the Parent contract field, select the Search for Record icon (![Search for Record icon]()).
   2. In the Parent contract pop-up list, select a contract record to assign as the parent contract.

6. **Optional:** Change the contract model.
   1. In the Contract model field, select the Search for Record icon (![Search for Record icon]()).
   2. In the Contract model pop-up list, select the model.

7. Select Save.
