# Modify the my favorites widget display

The My Favorites widget displays the favorite content for quick use. You can configure the instance options to control the appearance of the widget, such as the title and number of items to display you
want to view.

## Before you begin

Role required: sp_admin or admin

## Procedure

1. Navigate to AllSelf-ServiceEmployee Center.  
   The Employee Center home page is displayed.
2. Press and hold the control key, right-select the Favorites widget, and then select Instance Options.  
   Instance options page appears.Figure 1. Instance options .
3. Configure the instance options.  
   Note:  
   The my Favorites widget syncs instantly with other widgets in real-time on the web. However, when adding favorites items across devices (example: mobile to the web), a manual refresh is required to reflect the latest changes --- Reload the page on web or Pull to refresh on mobile.

   | Instance option | Description |
   |-|-|
   | Visible Favorites | Number of favorites to show. Default value 4. |
   | Show empty state | Opt in to show the widget with empty state message when no content is marked as favorite. |
   | Sort Order | Sort order of favorite items you want to view on the widget. The choices are: * Recently Accessed * Date Added (newest) * Date Added (oldest) {#config-favorites-instance-options__ul_btv_zyj_crb} Default value: Recently Accessed |
   | List Type | How you want the items to appear on the widget. The choices are: * Card List * Simple List {#config-favorites-instance-options__ul_w52_dzj_crb} Default value: Simple List |
   | Card Behavior | The way you want the card to appear on the widget. The choices are: * Single * Wrap {#config-favorites-instance-options__ul_l45_dzj_crb} Default value: Single |
   | Load Configuration | Select the list of Load configuration option. * Async * Sync {#config-favorites-instance-options__ul_irq_q5j_5yb}You may make the load configuration Synchronous for the widgets visible on the Home page for better load experience. |

4. Select Save.
