Canvas module provides a customizable workspace where employees can add, resize, and arrange widgets from a library to create personalized dashboards for their daily work.

Canvas module is accessible from the side navigation menu and provides a customizable workspace. Employees can add widgets from an administrator-curated library, resize them, and arrange them according to their preferences. Canvas automatically saves layout changes.{#eslate-canvas-module__eslate-canvas-module-para-1}

## Canvas widgets {#eslate-canvas-module__section-canvas-widgets}

Canvas includes default widgets and supports adding widgets from the administrator-curated library:

Inbox
:   Displays to-do items that require immediate attention with due dates and assignee information.

Featured Apps
:   Shows an administrator-curated set of applications. Employees can go to a full-page view to see all available apps, recently opened apps, and sort them alphabetically.

Kudos \& recognition
:   Displays recognition messages from colleagues with point values and timestamps.

Calendar
:   Shows upcoming meetings with join buttons for direct access. Employees can open Outlook for detailed views and refresh the widget to pull in the latest meetings. Synchronization occurs based on administrator-configured intervals.

My Requests
:   Displays all requests sorted by recently updated ones. Employees can view all requests or select individual items for more details.

## Administrator capabilities {#eslate-canvas-module__section-administrator-capabilities}

Administrators configure the canvas experience and validate changes before deployment:

* Curate the widget library that employees can add to their canvas.
* Set the default canvas layout and initial widgets.
* Configure refresh intervals for widgets that sync with external systems.
* Preview the canvas as any role or individual employee using the View by menu. The preview is read-only, displays a banner indicating preview mode, and reflects employee customizations when present.
* Publish updates using additive logic that adds new widgets in default positions without overwriting employee customizations.
* View confirmation messages showing the number of employees who received updates and warnings when changes cannot be applied additively.
* Access audit trail logs with timestamps and administrator names for all updates.

## Employee customization {#eslate-canvas-module__section-employee-customization}

Employees can customize their canvas workspace:

* Add widgets by selecting the plus icon and choosing from the administrator-provided library.
* Resize widgets by dragging widget corners to fit information density preferences.
* Reposition the widgets by dragging them to any location on the canvas.
