Create, understand, and manage core functions like space hierarchy, neighborhoods, and user assignments.

## Space Planning Overview {#space-planning__section_obs_rnj_13c}

As a workplace manager, you can use the floor map to visualize where the employees are seated and how neighborhoods are located on the floors. You can manage seating, manage user moves, and keep your workspace data up to date. If the Workplace Space Management plugin is installed, you can use additional features like space metrics and summaries. You can also get AI generated insights if you have Workplace Advisor installed.

As a space planner, you can use the Space Planning module for the following:

* View floor plans, space types, and which users are assigned to each space
* View key stats (KPIs) like the number of spaces, total capacity, and number of assigned users
* Group spaces by neighborhoods or space types
* Select spaces from the map or based on a filter, and update their details
* Assign or unassign users, manage neighborhoods, and update user allocations

## Accessing Space Planning {#space-planning__section_vcj_sx5_c3c}

You must install the following plugins to use the Space Planning module:

* Workplace Central
* Workplace Core
* Workplace Space Management

  The Space Management plugin provides additional features like space metrics and summaries.

You can install the plugins from the [ServiceNow Store](https://store.servicenow.com/sn_appstore_store.do#!/store/home). You can also visit the [ServiceNow Store](https://store.servicenow.com/sn_appstore_store.do#!/store/home) website to view all the available apps and for information about submitting requests to the store. Important:  
You must configure your workplace locations to use Space Planning. For more information about configuring workplace locations, see [Providing your workplace data](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/_WHzpdVO6SQ_4IpSYt15SQ "In the Workplace Core application, provide data related to your workplace locations and designate workspaces.").

To access Space Planning, navigate to AllWorkplace Central, then select the Space Planning module in the workspace.
