## Summary of Automation Anywhere Spoke

The Automation Anywhere Spoke enables ServiceNow customers to manage workflows and robotic process automation (RPA) tasks directly within their ServiceNow instance by integrating with their Automation Anywhere environment.
This integration facilitates automation of bot deployments, device management, folder handling, queue management, and user administration from ServiceNow.
Show full answer Show less
To use the spoke, customers must have an Integration Hub subscription and install required dependent plugins. The spoke adds an Automation Anywhere application and an Authentication module to the ServiceNow instance to securely connect and authenticate requests.

## Key Features

* **Bot Management:** Deploy bots to runner devices, retrieve details of specific bots, and list all bots.
* **Device Management:** Access details of specific devices, list all devices, and retrieve information about device pools.
* **Folder Management:** Retrieve details of individual folders and list all folders in Automation Anywhere.
* **Queue Management:** Stream and retrieve information on queues and work items in the Enterprise Control Room.
* **User Management:** Retrieve details of specific users and stream information on all users. Only users with bot runner or admin roles can execute these actions.
* **Authentication and Credentials:** The spoke includes an Authentication module where customers configure credential records to authenticate ServiceNow requests securely.
* **Connection and Credential Aliases:** Integration Hub uses aliases to manage connection and credential information, simplifying configuration across multiple environments and easing maintenance if credentials change.

## Key Outcomes

* Centralized automation management within ServiceNow, reducing the need to switch between platforms.
* Streamlined deployment and monitoring of Automation Anywhere bots and devices.
* Secure, role-based access control ensuring only authorized users can perform spoke actions.
* Simplified credential management via aliases, improving scalability and maintenance of integrations.
Manage workflows and robotics processes in Automation Anywhere instance from your ServiceNow instance.

Only users with bot runner or admin role can execute the spoke actions.

## Spoke module {#automation-anywhr-spoke__section_w2k_lyx_qlb}

The Automation Anywhere spoke adds the Automation Anywhere application
to your instance and includes the Authentication module. In this module, you should provide
details in the default credential record to authentication the ServiceNow
requests. See [Create a Credential record for the Automation Anywhere spoke](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/sXQXzzdJFo~lXwucYCw28A#cred-automation-anywhr "Create a credential record for the Automation Anywhere instance. The Automation Anywhere spoke connection and credential alias uses these credentials to authorize actions.") for more information.

## Connection and credential alias requirements {#automation-anywhr-spoke__section_ibn_pj2_hfb}

Integration Hub uses aliases to manage connection and credential information, and OAuth credentials. Using an alias eliminates the need to configure multiple credentials and connection information
profiles when using multiple environments. If the connection or credential information changes, you don't need to update any actions that use the connection.

For information about setting up the spoke, see
[Set up the Automation Anywhere spoke](https://www.servicenow.com/docs/sXQXzzdJFo~lXwucYCw28A#setup-auto-anywhr "Integrate ServiceNow and Automation Anywhere instances by using the Automation Anywhere credential record to authenticate ServiceNow requests.").
