Oracle Analytics Server pattern-based discovery
Summarize
Summary of Oracle Analytics Server pattern-based discovery
The Oracle Analytics Server pattern-based discovery identifies key Oracle Analytics Server components on Windows and Linux servers within your environment. This discovery supports maintaining an accurate Configuration Management Database (CMDB) by detecting core Oracle BI components and their relationships. To ensure successful discovery, the Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns application and related ServiceNow applications must be up to date.

Prerequisites
- Verify that Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns, Visibility Content, CMDB, and CI Class Models applications are current.
- Confirm Oracle Analytics Server processes are active on target machines:
- Windows:
sawserver.exe,NQScheduler.exe,nqsserver.exe - Linux:
sawserver,nqscheduler,nqsserver
- Windows:
- Ensure discovery credentials have read access to Oracle BI installation directories, including the environment variable location and
bifoundation/version.txtfile. - Create appropriate credentials on the ServiceNow AI Platform:
- Windows: Configure Windows credentials
- Linux: Configure SSH credentials
Discovery Process
Run a horizontal discovery to collect data about Oracle Analytics Server components. The discovery populates the CMDB with details and relationships for these components.
Key Features
- Oracle BI Server: Discovers instances of the core analytics engine, capturing name, version, and installation directory.
- Oracle BI Presentation Service: Detects the web-based user interface service, including name, version, and installation path.
- Oracle BI Scheduler: Identifies the scheduling component responsible for report generation, with similar attributes recorded.
Configuration Items (CIs) and Relationships
Each discovered component is recorded as a CI in the CMDB with the following relationships:
- Oracle BI Server runs on either Windows Server or Linux Server.
- Oracle BI Presentation Service runs on either Windows Server or Linux Server.
- Oracle BI Scheduler runs on either Windows Server or Linux Server.
These relationships help map the deployment architecture and dependencies of Oracle Analytics Server components within your environment.
Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns finds Oracle Analytics Server (formerly Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition) components on Windows and Linux servers in your environment. Discovering some of these resources may require updating to the latest version of the Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns application from the ServiceNow Store.
Request apps on the Store
