Set up for the Rapid7 data warehouse Integration

  • The Rapid7 data warehouse Integration is one of the integration types that is included with the Rapid7 Vulnerability Integration Rapid7 Vulnerability Integration.

    Before you begin

    Before you run the Rapid7 data warehouse integration, complete the following set up tasks:
    • Get the Rapid7 data warehouse add-on. See the Rapid7 website and documentation to acquire and install this add-on.
    • Get the most current PostgresSQL driver. Go to https://jdbc.postgresql.org/ and download the latest driver.
    • A MID Server to run queries to the data warehouse. See MID Server for more information about how to set up a MID Server.

      Note the data warehouse name. The Rapid7 data warehouse integration type only supports standalone MID Servers. Clustered MID Servers are not supported.

    • Get your Rapid7 data warehouse server URL and authentication credentials and have them accessible.

    Role required: The system administrator [admin] downloads and installs the app. The sn_vul.vulnerability_admin or sn_vul.admin oversees configuration and verifies expected results.

    Procedure

    1. Log in to the ServiceNow AI Platform instance you want to install the Rapid7 Vulnerability Integration application on.
    2. Install the PostgreSQL JAR file you downloaded in the set up tasks listed previously.
      1. In your ServiceNow AI Platform instance, navigate to All > MID Server > JAR Files.
      2. Click New.
      3. Enter the name of the PostgresSQL driver that you downloaded earlier.

        Optionally, enter the Version, Source, and Description information. Leave the Active check box selected.

      4. Attach the downloaded JAR file using the paper clip icon in the header.
      5. Click Submit.
      You have completed the setup for the Rapid7 data warehouse Integration.
