Summary

Event Management begins with an event generated from a monitoring solution and proceeds through automated remediation of an infrastructure issue. As a phase two piece of the ServiceNow ServiceWatch Suite, this ITOM application acts as a manager of managers allowing events generated in third party monitoring systems to be recorded and acted upon as alerts, and other tasks, in ServiceNow.

In this two‑day course, attendees will learn how to enable service‑centric operations management by configuring Event Management in their ServiceNow system. Topics include:

  • Capture and record Events in ServiceNow
  • Overview of Discovery and Service Mapping
  • Generate meaningful Alerts from Events in ServiceNow
  • Create actionable tasks, such as Incidents, from Alerts
  • Configure SolarWinds and iReasoning to create Events
  • Use workflows to automatically remediate server issues
  • Create reports based on Event and Alert information

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for IT Operations Management personnel and others in a company who work with events and alerts as they pertain to infrastructure equipment.

Prerequisites

The ServiceNow Foundations eLearning course – six modules that introduce the ServiceNow platform and interface.

  • Customers with OKTA/SSO login can access the Learning Portal directly to Self Register
  • Customers with no account can easily create an account

Onsite training is available, with a minimum of 5 students, through ServiceNow. Pricing is per individual student up to a maximum of 20 students.
