Managing in a Hybrid World
Typically, projects were once delivered with two approaches for execution: waterfall or agile. Waterfall follows a sequential process that’s very linear, while the agile process is more iterative—typically using planning to guide the project in sections (i.e., “sprints”). Now there is a hybrid of the two, which can offer the best of both approaches. This can allow for more flexibility depending upon the project itself.
Today, hybrid is becoming the more prevalent model—meaning agile and traditional methods cannot consistently be applied in their “purest” form. Approaches must be adjusted to meet the needs of each unique project, while project managers must be able to adjust as needed. Is your team prepared?
