The CreatorCon Hackathon at Knowledge 2024 is just around the corner!
If you're like many other eager participants, you might be wondering, "How can I find the perfect teammates to join forces with?"
Well, fret not, because we've got you covered with some handy tips to navigate the team formation process.
A Quick Heads Up!
Before we dive into some tips, here's a heads-up: We're hosting an online team formation event soon, led by none other than yours truly!
The team formation session will occur on Wednesday, May 1, from 8:00-8:30am Pacific Time. Plus, there will be two “Know Before You Go” sessions, one on Wednesday, May 1, from 8:30-9:00am Pacific Time, and one on Wednesday, May 1, from 8:30-9:00pm Pacific Time.
If you prefer a more guided approach to finding teammates, be sure to sign up to receive your invite here. Scroll down and click the “Sign up for pre-conference events” button to add your name to the list of invitees.
Remember, signing up for the pre-conference events like the online team formation does not automatically register you for the Hackathon.
All individuals that plan on participating in the Hackathon will need to confirm and check-in to the Hackathon event on the expo floor at the Community Pavilion on Tuesday, May 7, from 2-4pm.
Now, if you're ready to forge your own path, let's get started!
Finding Your Team:
Attend pre-Hackathon sessions: Like we discussed above, we’re hosting pre-conference events like “Know Before You Go” and Online Team Formation sessions where participants can mingle, pitch ideas, and form teams. Register for those here!
Utilize this ServiceNow Community post: The Community is the perfect spot to find Hackathon participants. If you’d like, use the comments of this post to throw your name out there as a potential teammate!
Reach out to your network: Tap into your existing network of colleagues, peers, or fellow developers. Post on social media, reach out to former teammates, or talk with others you may know who are attending CreatorCon to showcase your interest in forming a Hackathon team.
Be proactive and open-minded: Don't be afraid to reach out to strangers or people you admire in the developer community. Keep an open mind and be willing to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill sets.
Clearly communicate your skills and interests: When reaching out to potential teammates, be sure to clearly communicate your skills, expertise, and interests.
Remember, forming a Hackathon team is all about finding the right balance of skills, creativity, and chemistry. Take your time to connect with potential teammates, ask the right questions, and most importantly, have fun collaborating!
See you on the show floor!
