Abstract: Managing a CMDB likely isn't as glamorous as the rockstar lifestyle; however, it might be as chaotic if neglected. Feeling overwhelmed in a sea of CIs and data sources, I hope to offer some relief. Tasks like blending two records come naturally to humans but pose challenges for systems. Identification and Reconciliation (IRE) is the powerful module that can take Multi-Sourced CMDB data from misinterpreted and frustrating to invaluable. IRE comes configured and ready to go out-of-the-box; understanding how it works makes your integrations smoother and provides more options if customizations are required.
