Session Code: CCB0990
Presenter(s): Lars
Company(s): Sopra Steria
Abstract:
Skanska, a global construction company, is decentralized but needs to centralize the technology platform and consolidate licenses. Each country needs to have its own variant of applications with full control over its own development and maintenance organization. Furthermore, they need to be able to utilize their own local technology partners. No changes to an application for one country should cause disruption to another country's application.
In this session, you'll see how Skanska has successfully rolled out a global, scalable Enterprise Service Management ServiceNow environment where countries can at any time implement their own version of any application with any resources they choose. A global maintenance organization manages the general platform, shared components, and conflicts of interest — while local teams manage local applications. This setting stops the blame game and allows each country access only to its own application(s). Key components are:
- Scoped applications with delegated developers and application administration
- Innovative architecture of extended tables
- Governance Framework – detailing application organization structure, platform architecture, shared components, and dos and don'ts
