Abstract:
In early 2017, eBay’s security monitoring team was facing a conundrum. At one end of the spectrum, the asks on the team were phenomenally increasing. With their ever-increasing monitoring coverage and an over 100% increase in security alerts, they were struggling in their goal to decrease the time it takes to contain and mitigate incidents. On the other end of the spectrum, resources and head count were not going up. eBay had to do something drastic, and that started their journey on implementing a security orchestration and automation platform.
