Abstract: Our path to build a CMDB and overall source of truth for AdventHealth IT equipment has been an ever-changing journey. As with most video games, when you play a game for the first time on the hardest setting, it doesn’t end well because you don’t have the necessary skills for victory. We’ll discuss the levels we’ve “played” on this journey and the wins and losses that are leading us to reach our goals. Level 1: Building Your Hero’s Inventory – ServiceNow Discovery Level 2: Assets vs. CIs – Asset Management and Lifecycle Management Level 3: Relationships are Hard – Service Mapping Level 4: Main Boss – Application Portfolio Management Level 5: Smurfing – Applying your skills and process to other devices (PCI, IoT, Biomedical Equipment)
