Monday
Hi All
Just putting it out there in case anyone needs a temporary resource for part time / limited hours or backfill.
I work full time as a ServiceNow administrator / developer for a medium sized corporation, and i am looking to take on some additional work outside of my current hours to build my resume and of course help pay the bills (it's important to be honest! :))
I have 6+ years as ServiceNow admin in my current role, and was part of the team that did the initial implementation, as well as the subsequent expansion of capability after go live.
The environment i support is 2000+ users, with ~200 ITIL fulfillers. My experience is primarily in ITSM. I have a lot of experience with flow designer, workflow editor, catalog management, notifications, scripting and other fundamental skills related to the Now platform.
I am based in Adelaide, Australia - have a current CSA and am working through the App Dev learning stream at the moment as time allows.
If it sounds like I might be able to help you fill a gap, please reach out - I would love the opportunity to talk more about how I can help.
Thanks,
Kai

Hi @Kai Tingey,
I'm not familiar with any of the Australian laws related to labour market but perhaps you should primarily ask your current employer and/or check your contract as in Europe it's quite common (happened to me while working in 3 different countries - CZ, ES, PT) that it might be explicitly prohibited to perform a job in parallel within the same industry.
For example, if you own a house you can rent it while working but it might be restricted to have two jobs at the same time. Or at least as an employee + contract. Different scenario would be to work as a contractor and then you can work for 50 companies simultaneously as long as you manager all the errands and activities and they are fine with that...
This is quite simple method how companies ensures that you will not spend the paid time working for somebody else. So my recommendation is to making this clear and after that you can think of the next steps.
And last but not least: TAXES my friend...taxes... 😞
let me know what do you think about it
EDIT: highlighted in bold

Thanks for the reply
As long as I disclose the potential conflict of interest to my current employer and receive approval it is ok. Obviously I would do that prior to engaging with anyone, as my full time job is naturally very important to me and I have no intention of doing the wrong thing by my employer.
The main thing is doing your tax correctly so as not to get any unpleasant surprises at tax time as you say. The ATO knows all!

OK then searching part time jobs might be tricky, imagine situation when you work 2 hours per day after your standard 8 hours. And you will be developing and after the 2 extra hours for second client you will not finish it or there will be a bug/incident and you will be available not the next day morning but the next day after you will work your standard 8h shift.
This limited flexibility might be a problem for you. Organisations would probably prioritise contractors paid by hour and being available when it's needed not when they other duties end.
Not saying it's impossible, rather informing you in advance about this potential downside..
From my observations, this SN Jobs forum is not much successful, I find LinkedIn much more effective in job seeking as well as your social credit - ask your friends, former colleagues and anyone around. That might be better than here but let's hope I'm wrong.
Good luck in any case, mate! 🍀
