The Digital Portfolio Management (DPM) Workspace is a unified environment to view all your services, service offerings, business applications, and service instances. With the proper access, you can also view details and edit the solutions without having to leave the DPM experience.

Getting started with the DPM Workspace

This video provides getting started steps to use the DPM Workspace.

Perform tasks and customize views

The DPM Workspace provides basic roles to create personal portfolios. To see portfolio details, you must install the proper plugins and roles from the products that you want to view.

For example, viewing and editing roadmaps comes from the Strategic Planning application. If you want to see roadmaps in the context of your service or service offering while in the DPM experience, then you must install the plugins and roles for Strategic Planning.

Also, DPM enables administrators to customize user views by hiding certain tabs and tab sections (even roadmaps as mentioned in the previous example). For more information, see Configure the Digital Portfolio Management experience.

To learn about the plugins and roles required to view data from other ServiceNow applications in the DPM experience, see Digital Portfolio Management related applications and data sources.

Note: In the DPM experience, the data you pull in from other applications is limited to the license that you have from the other applications. For example, if you have a standard license for Strategic Planning, then you see standard Strategic Planning data in DPM. Likewise, if you have a pro license for Strategic Planning, then you see pro Strategic Planning data in the DPM experience.

The DPM base roles and plugins enable some actions like create demand and improvement initiatives. To make more substantial actions or edits, you must have the proper access control list (ACL) permissions from the applications that you want to work with in DPM.
