ServiceNow AI Acceptable Use Policy

The following requirements apply to your use of ServiceNow artificial intelligence and machine learning services, features, offerings, and functionality (including any third‑party functionality made available by ServiceNow), including but not limited to Advanced AI and Data Products (

Responsible AI Requirements. Outputs generated by a machine learning model are probabilistic. With respect to your use of any ServiceNow AI Offering, you are responsible for determining whether the following are required:

  • Implementation of human oversight of any output;
  • Meaningful human control over decisions informed by AI; and
  • Evaluating output for accuracy, harm, and appropriateness for your use case.

Prohibited Uses. You agree not to use, or allow others to use, the ServiceNow AI Offerings:

  • In any way that violates any applicable national, federal, state, local or international law or regulation.
  • For the purpose of harming or attempting to exploit or harm minors;
  • To submit, generate, or distribute sexually explicit content or to create sexual chatbots.
  • To generate or disseminate malware or any other content intending to be used for the purpose of harming electronic systems.
  • To knowingly disseminate or generate illegal, false, or discriminatory content;
  • To use biometric systems for identification or assessment, including facial recognition, by law enforcement.
  • To intentionally defame, disparage, stalk, bully, or otherwise harass others.
  • To impersonate or attempt to impersonate others knowingly without their consent.
  • For any use intended to discriminate, or which has the effect of discriminating, against individuals or groups based on legally protected characteristics or categories. or
  • In a way that is intended to harm the ServiceNow AI Offerings or impair anyone else’s use of it.
  • As part of an automated decision‑making process, that has a consequential impact on any individual’s legal position, financial position, access to services, or employment opportunities unless there is meaningful human oversight of the system or the final decision is made by a human being, including other factors beyond the ServiceNow AI Offering’s recommendation are taken into account.
