  • The AI Risk and Compliance workspace is the central hub for AI risk and compliance managers to monitor risk posture, track assessments, manage controls and issues, and oversee AI cases across the enterprise.

An AI risk and compliance manager must have a full view of the risks associated with AI assets like AI systems, models, and datasets for several important reasons that are listed as follows:
    • Comprehensive risk assessment: Having a complete understanding of all potential risks enables the manager to conduct a thorough risk assessment. This includes identifying vulnerabilities, potential failures, and areas where the AI could cause harm or non-compliance.
    • Regulatory compliance: Many industries have specific regulations and standards that AI systems must adhere to. A full view of the risks helps ensure that the AI assets comply with these regulations, avoiding legal penalties and maintaining the organization's reputation.
    • Data privacy and security: AI systems often handle sensitive data. Understanding the risks helps in implementing robust security measures to protect this data from breaches, unauthorized access, and misuse.
    • Operational efficiency: By identifying and mitigating risks, the manager can improve the overall efficiency and reliability of AI systems. This reduces downtime, errors, and the need for costly corrections.
    • Issue management: In the event of an issue, having a full view of the risks allows for a more effective and rapid response. The manager can quickly identify the root cause and take appropriate actions to mitigate the impact.
The home page of the AI risk and compliance workspace meets these requirements and displays the relevant data across the following tabs.

You can access the AI risk and compliance workspace by navigating to All > AI Risk and Compliance Workspace.

    Note:
Dashboards in the AI Risk and Compliance Workspace (Risk and Compliance, Operations, and AI Cases) display data for Managed AI assets only. AI assets that are marked as Unmanaged are excluded from dashboard widgets, metrics, and summary counts, but remain visible in inventory and list views. If you have the AI steward [sn_ai_governance_ai_steward] role you can mark assets as Managed or Unmanaged. For more information, see Managed and unmanaged AI assets.
