Associate content categories to topics

  • Associate content from multiple content categories to a topic in the taxonomy.

    Before you begin

    Role required: knowledge_admin, taxonomy_admin

    User criteria required: Taxonomy Manager.

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to All > Content Taxonomy > Topics.
    2. Select the topic where you want to associate a content category.
    3. Select the Add/remove content from categories related link.
    4. In the collection list pop up window, do one of the following to move the categories to the Knowledge Categories list:
      • Select a category and then click the right arrow icon (Right-arrow icon.) icon.
      • Double-click a category.
      Note:
      In the Collection list, you can search for knowledge categories by entering the category name or by using wild cards (*).
    5. Click OK.
      When you associate a category to a topic, all the Knowledge Base articles or Service Catalog items belonging to the selected categories are associated with the topic.
      Note:
      The time taken to associate all the content with a topic depends on the number of Knowledge Base articles or Service Catalog items that a category contains. This is a one-time activity.
