Create neighborhood reservations
Create and search for reservable spaces in the context of a neighborhood.
Before you begin
For more information about how reservation admins can configure and enable neighborhood space reservations, see Configure a reservable module.
- The employee is assigned to the neighborhood, and the neighborhood is restricted.
- The employee is assigned to the neighborhood, and the neighborhood is not restricted.
- The neighborhood is not restricted and the employee is not assigned to it.
Role required: sn_wsd_core.workplace_user
Procedure

Navigate to All > Workplace Reservation Management > Portal > New Reservation.
You can also create neighborhood reservations by navigating to All > Workplace Core > Workplace services portal > Workplace Services home page and selecting Make a reservation.

On the Make a reservation page, select the workplace items.
For example, Desks or Meeting rooms.

To search for reservable spaces in a neighborhood, select Browse by
Neighborhood.
Note:The Browse by Neighborhood option is only available if the Enable browse by neighborhood option is selected on the Reservable Module configuration page. For more information, see Configure a reservable module.

On the form field, fill in the fields
Table 1. Make a Reservation Field Description Neighborhood Name of the neighborhood. Building Building name. Select a location icon ( ) to select a building.
(Optional) Floor Floor of the building where you want to make a reservation. The reservation admin can indicate per module if an employee can use the floor in the search. From Start date when you would start using the workplace item. The time is displayed based on the selected building's time zone. After selecting the start date, select the reservation start time for the workplace item from the time picker. To End date when you would stop using the workplace item. The time is displayed based on the selected building's time zone. After selecting the End date, select the reservation start time for the workplace item from the time picker. Recurring Option for reserving the workplace item on a recurring basis. Select this field and specify the number of days and the number of times that you want to repeat the reservation. For weekly reservations, select the days of the week for the reservation. The Recurring option is displayed or hidden based on the Allow recurring reservations option settings on the Reservable module page. All day Option to reserve the workplace item for an entire day. The start and end times of the reservation depend on the timings set by an organization. You can’t change the end time. This option appears if your workplace administrator has enabled the All day reservation setting on the selected Type. For more information, see Create a reservable view. -
Select the Add another building option to add multiple buildings and spaces within a single reservation and provide the required details like Building name, floor, start date and time.
The selected buildings can belong to different regions or locations and different time zones. The application automatically adjusts the time zones variations accordingly.
The first building that you select is considered the primary building and the other buildings that you add after the first building are the secondary buildings. The application uses the date and time from the primary building to convert the applicable time zones for the secondary buildings.

Click Search.
The available spaces in a neighborhood are displayed.Note:Space admins or space planners determine if employees are permitted to view the neighborhoods on the location directory.
- From the Search results, select Add to add a reservable space.

Switch between the Card view and Schedule
view tabs to review and select the available spaces.
In the schedule view for a selected building, you see the applicable date and time.The bottom pane shows the number of items that you've selected from the search results.

Select the Map view tab if your organization is using Indoor Mapping for interactive locations and wayfinding.
The floor map shows the neighborhood spaces based on the availability and employee assignment. Map legend shows all available spaces with a colored outline, reserved spaces in green, and unavailable spaces in red color.

Click Next.
Verify the reservation details for selected spaces.
- Select Add Services to add room configurations or catering for selected spaces.
- Review the Reservation Summary details.

Click Submit Reservation.
If any of the items don't require approval, the selected workplace items are reserved. The status of the request is updated to Confirmed. If any of the items need approval, your request is submitted for approval. The status of the request is updated to Awaiting approval.
