Exploring Service Graph Connectors for API data within API Insights

    Service Graph Connectors are integrations that facilitate data ingestion into the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) from various third-party sources. To learn more, see Getting started with Service Graph Connectors and API Service Graph Connectors.

    Options for maintaining Service Graph Connectors for importing API data within API Insights include:

    Update an installed Service Graph Connector in API Insights

    Keep a Service Graph Connector for importing API data up-to-date within API Insights.

    Before you begin

    Role required: sn_cmdb_admin and cmdb_inst_admin

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Workspaces > API Insights.
    2. Select the Connections tab.
    3. On the API connections page, select Explore connectors.
    4. In the Updates available section, review the updates that are available for a Service Graph Connector.
    5. Update the connector.
      • Select a connector to access the connector in Application Manager and then install any updates.
      • Select Install updates to open Application Manager, and then view and install updates for a connector from the Updates tab.

    Install a Service Graph Connector with an available entitlement in API Insights

    Install a Service Graph Connector for importing API data that matches an entitlement available in Application Manager from within API Insights.

    Before you begin

    Role required: sn_cmdb_admin and cmdb_inst_admin

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Workspaces > API Insights.
    2. Select the Connections tab.
    3. On the API connections page, select Explore connectors.
    4. In the Entitlements available section, select Explore in Application Manager.
    5. In Application Manager, review the entitlements and install a connector for API data.

    Install a Service Graph Connector from ServiceNow Store within API Insights

    Explore ServiceNow Store to request and use a Service Graph Connector with no available entitlements for importing API data from within API Insights.

    Before you begin

    Role required: sn_cmdb_admin and cmdb_inst_admin

    Procedure

    1. Navigate to Workspaces > API Insights.
    2. Select the Connections tab.
    3. On the API connections page, select Explore connectors.
    4. In the Available from ServiceNow Store section, select Explore in ServiceNow Store.
    5. On ServiceNow Store, review the list of Service Graph Connectors for importing API data and install a connector.
