Employee Center shows “The portal you are trying to access has been deactivated”

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to understand the backend logic behind a message shown in Employee Center.

When the Employee Center portal (sp_portal record) is set to Inactive, users see the following message on access:

I would like to know:

  1. Which OOTB script or component is responsible for checking whether the portal is active

  2. Where exactly this message is generated or rendered (Script Include, Page, Widget, or UI Builder component)

  3. Whether this behavior is controlled by the Service Portal framework or Employee Center (UI Builder) routing

  4. If there is a supported way to override or customize this message

I already checked:

  • sp_entry_page Script Include (login/redirect logic)

  • sp_portal record configuration

But I couldn’t find where the inactive portal validation and message rendering are handled.

Has anyone traced this before or knows which OOTB component manages this?

Thanks in advance!
