Thanks for the great post.   This is very helpful.   Chrome provides an excellent way to emulate mobile devices, and nicely laid out.

Note to other users: not all devices are compatible with the new UI.   For devices that are not compatible, the UI will revert to the default.   This makes it look like mobile isn't working.   Try using different, more recent, devices to verify if mobile is working properly.
