New to Tampa

Hi!

I'm brand new to the community and just wanted to introduce myself. I live in St. Pete and have recently decided to embark in a new career in tech and have started working on my CSA with ServiceNow. If anyone has any advice or lives locally and would love to meet up, I would love that! Or if anyone can share any advice here that would be wonderful too!

DO NOT take the CSA yet! Apply for the NextGen and see if you get in. I finished my CSA a month ago no SN experience but because I am certified I'm somehow overqualified for the entry level program.

I took the NextGen program from Jan to April 2024. I am already overqualified with 20+ years in IT, but will still pursue the CSA since any potential opportunity will ask for it.

Maybe I am wrong, but the tone / nature of the original question was pretty relaxed; hey let's get together, have a drink, some dinner, and chat about work, casual like... then we had some admins post about making this some official thing where we have to worry about presenters and an agenda of events and I personally lost interest...

Maybe the right place for this is meetups, or a facebook group as a last resort if we have to turn this into a big thing.

Again, maybe I'm off base and I do see a benefit to a Tampa Bay SNUG, but that's not what this sounded like.

@C_Stuempert Has anyone taken the initiative yet to organize anything? The meetup that was posted is probably a good place to do so, I don't see any active events there. Someone needs to create an event and post it in this thread so everyone that has expressed interest can plan to join. Do you want to be that person? 🙂
