Abstract:

In the session, we will showcase Service Mapping bi-directional integration with Slack, and how it can help teams react faster to application service problems and solve them together.

Service Mapping creates and maintains application service maps that show the associated mix of IT components and dependencies. Slack is a collaboration environment enables teams to work together seamlessly to achieve their goals. Based on IntegrationHub and Flow Designer, we will show how to implement a use case where Service Mapping discovery errors are posted into a relevant Slack channel, enabling team collaboration to resolve those errors. We will also show how to use the Scripted Web Services capabilities of the ServiceNow platform to invoke Service Mapping APIs directly from Slack using slash commands or Slack Bots.
