Session Code: CCW1317
Presenter(s): Shimon, Amir
Company(s): ServiceNow, Service-now.com
Abstract:
Events are the way to monitor a system’s health. Applications, servers and network gear generate various types of log messages which would further enrich ITOM Event Management for event grouping and correlation. This session will explain how to send events to your instance, either directly or via the MID server, the steps involved to normalize those events to the ServiceNow event model, and finally, to write event rules to convert these events into alerts. The hands-on lab will guide you through all these steps, using text-based syslog messages and JSON-based events. We will also present feedback from customers who have used the Push Connector.
