Integration with Azure DevOps - questions

We primarily use Azure DevOps for source control but would like to expand on that. I found one project in ADO that was set up as an Agile project. We wanted to compare that project in Azure DevOps with that project in ServiceNow so I connected our ServiceNow Dev instance to Azure DevOps.

The project was discovered. The teams, areas, iterations, sprints and workitems were imported using the default table mappings. That all appeared to be successful.

In ServiceNow, I see the epic under Epics and the stories under Stories. However, the stories aren't connected to the epic
in ServiceNow; that is, epic field is empty in the story records that were imported from Azure DevOps. The stories are associated with sprints in ServiceNow which seems to match ADO but I was told that some of the states aren't matching up between ADO and ServiceNow.  Also, it doesn't look like any of the tasks were imported into ServiceNow. The information in ServiceNow for this project appears to be incomplete.

So, I'm not sure if I did something incorrectly or missed something or if the project was not exactly set up the right way in ADO. I guess I am looking for some guidance on this.

Thank you

Hello,

In the default table mappings there is no field mapping between Azure DevOps parent and ServiceNow parent.

Therefore you can update the table mapping by adding the field map for it. On Azure DevOps side the field is System.Parent.

Thank you...  That was my initial thought but when i looked at the mappings for story, epic was in there... Am I looking at the wrong thing?

Hi Mah,

The mapping seems correct as far as I can see.

As I am currently working on similar integration, I will to reproduce similar behavior.

Best regards,

Boyan

Hi,

Can you clarify what plugin are you using for the integration? We are analyzing use cases for this integration and didn't recognize the plugin from the print screen.

Thank you.
