Development Experiences: Development Experiences are the proactive and personalized experiences that we provide to employees, managers and business leaders in the flow of work. The features that help achieve these are:
- Skills and Career Profile: The Skills and Career profile helps employees understand their skills and brings them to the forefront. - Career Hub and Manager Hub: Career Hub and Manager Hub help employees and managers understand where employees currently are and where they are headed in their career growth journey. Career Hub allows employees to explore new opportunities and guides them to take action that helps them achieve their career goals. In Manager Hub, people leaders can view consolidated employee growth plans, track their employees progress and view recommended actions to help guide their team. With the Learning application, managers can also assign learning courses to their teams for training and growth. Also, managers and employees can explore and collaborate on growth plans that achieve growth outcomes in a purpose-built interface, and the most important insights and recommendations from growth and development applications are easily accessed here.
Development Workflows: Development workflows are how we bring different activities together in a single growth plan or initiative. The features that helps achieve this is:
- Growth Plans: Growth Plans within Development Workflows orchestrate activities to guide employees on achieving their development outcomes. It can recommend various development activities such as aspirations setting, learning course recommendations and growth conversations to help employees achieve their development outcomes. Growth plans allow employees and managers to personalize and collaborate on plans together. It supports managers to validate employee strengths, and helps employees strengthen their skills profile to make their development feel tangible.
Development Activities: Development Activities are tasks within a growth and development plan that contributes towards the stated outcome. For example, if an employee is currently at a Level 2 in their role, but they aspire to become a Level 3 or 4, the system will recommend various activities that they can do to help them towards achieving this aspiration. The features that help achieve these are:
- Learning: Our Learning experience application enables employees to proactively discover, manage, and engage with career development content. Here, employees can view learning content curated from multiple external LMS sources as well as content created within the ServiceNow platform in one single view. Courses can be accessed easily in the flow of work and managers can actively assign learning to their employees. Intelligent recommendations also suggest content to employees based on popularity, personalization, and their skill gaps. Career Assessments within learning paths allow employees to validate that they have acquired the knowledge and/or proficiency levels. Lastly, Learning courses can be tied to Achievements to provide badges and certifications for light gamification.
- Aspirations: Aspiration setting help employees explore options and think more holistically about their career growth. It helps employees explore what they want in their work and helps them assess their interests. It also allows employees to express interest in specific talent opportunities or job experiences and guides them on the next best actions to make progress towards their career aspirations.
- Conversations: Conversations support employees and managers in having meaningful growth discussions. Managers and employees can plan ahead for growth conversations here by adding “talking points” for guidance. Additionally, action items can be added to existing or new development paths to help ensure that both managers and employees are having meaningful conversations.
Talent Development helps customers grow and develop their employees, leading to less turnover and a higher engaged workforce.
Skills Intelligence offerings:
The Skills Intelligence engine acts as the foundational layer that powers all the capabilities withinTalent Development. The key components of the Skills Intelligence application are dynamic AI-driven skill ontology, AI models, proactive prompts to drive adoption, and a comprehensive skills profile.
Dynamic AI-driven skills ontology: A dynamic AI-driven skills ontology can help your organization to define and measure the relationships between the skills, roles, and your employees. The skills ontology provides actionable data that guides learned decisions and effectively addresses skill gaps. Powered by AI, the skills ontology is constantly learning, inferring, collecting, and maintaining information about the skills, which means that your organization doesn't need to update the data manually. You can augment the skills ontology with your organization's internal data to further enrich the ontology.
Skills-based career data: Match the career data of your organization with skills to enhance the development of your employees by aligning actual job roles with relevant skills. You can empower your employees to excel in their current roles while fostering opportunities for future growth and advancement within the company.
AI models: The AI models embedded in skills ontology enable organizations to establish links between different skills, as well as link the skills to job titles. AI algorithms are used to normalize aggregated skills data collected from various data sources and to create the interconnections within the ontology. These models help organizations to recognize the skill outputs, identify skill gaps, and offer skill and learning recommendations to your employees. Your organization can also leverage AI to send recommendations to determine the skills that must be mapped to individual employees.
Proactive Prompts to drive adoption: Drive adoption in your organization by sending prompts proactively to your employees and managers so that they perform the specific tasks in their natural flow of work. For example, prompts can be used to request an employee to update their skills or for a manager to validate the skills of their team. You can use Proactive Prompts in multiple engagement channels like Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Outlook, Zoom, and the short messaging services (SMS). Your employees can easily update their skills.
Employee skills profile: Build a complete understanding of your talent with a comprehensive view of the skills that they possess. Your employees can regularly monitor and update their skills profiles to gain the knowledge and capabilities to thrive in dynamic business environments. By leveraging their skills profiles, your employees can easily import their skills from resumes or LinkedIn profiles.
Here are the key areas where you will see Skills surface in the Talent Development application in the Vancouver release:
Skills Intelligence in Manager Hub: After your employees update their proficiency levels in the required skills section, your managers can review and validate these skills during scheduled conversations with the employee in Manager Hub
Connect skills to Learning: By using the required skills section in your skills profile, your managers can determine the skill gaps within a role and recommend learning opportunities to employees so that they can bridge the skill gaps. The Skills Intelligence application integrates with Learning to introduce skills-driven learning search results that your managers can use to recommend courses based on the skills of your employees.
Proactive Prompts for Skills Intelligence: Proactive Prompts enable contextual and proactive engagement for your managers and employees by bringing actionable insights as prompts into their flow of work. You can use these prompts in multiple engagement channels, such as Microsoft Teams and the short messaging service (SMS).

Hello @Radhika1 - the Talent Development (TD) application requires a separate license. The TD application does use the Employee Profile table where you could give certain users access to the TD license based on certain criteria such as only full-time employees or employees that are in a certain department. Please reach out to your account team for more details. We would welcome a chance to chat with you more about this new and exciting product suite!
