Move records from Content lLibrary from one instance to another

Hi All,

I have created few styled content records in content library (sn_cd_content_base) ne DEV and now I need migrate it to STG. When I move the XMLs of these records to other instances, publish plan is not moved and so changes wont reflect in the portal unless I add the publish plan manually and publish it.

How should I do it?
What records should I migrate?

Thanks,

Hello @ThiagoPereiraRJ

Capture all related records in one update set:

1) Open the content record
2) Check related lists (versions, variants, publish plan)
3) Ensure everything is included before moving

Note:
Moving only sn_cd_content_base is not enough
Include Publish Plan and related records
Prefer Update Sets over XML
Re-publish content after migration

Hi,

If you miss sn_cd_content_visibility, the content won’t appear until you manually add and publish.

To make it work, you need to move all related records:

  • sn_cd_content_base
  • sn_cd_content_visibility - mandatory
  • m2m_connected_content - any topics are linked
  • sn_cd_content_portal -  if used in portal

After migration, check the Publish Plan and click Publish once if needed.

Update Sets can help, but they are not always reliable for this because these are data records, not pure configuration.

If this helps, please give a like and mark as solution

Yes , you have to manually publish it.
