Flexera Integration - Import process time. Need advice.

We've had Flexera for some time now, and are trying to integrate with ServiceNow (yes, we realize we should've done this from the beginning...it's a little late for that now).
In our test imports the full process is taking days to complete. We ended up having to kill the process with our last attempt in a dev environment.
Even though the first full feed is the only one that will take a long time we can't have that process run for days regardless.
Has anyone faced this same issue before? Were you able to overcome it? How?

Melinda,
We've since put this project on hold for a time when we have more dedicated resources available.
Before that, we managed to get the import to run in a much shorter period of time, but were experiencing other issues that I'm not entirely certain were tied directly to the import as much as to our instance.
