Getting the right hardware and software to the right employee at the right time is the goal of IT procurement – but as a state or local government leader, you know that can be easier said than done. Procurement cycles can be painfully slow, frustrating employees and halting productivity.
However, there can be a better way. Over a two-year period, the state of Tennessee reduced the time required to process the purchase order for a new hardware request from 45 days to three days, and for software from 30 days to five days.
Join Government Technology on June 27 at 11 a.m. Pacific/2 p.m. Eastern as we talk with Andy Kidd, director of business operations for the state of Tennessee, about how the state used a cloud-based service management platform to streamline its procurement process. We’ll also talk with Katherine Barrett, a senior fellow with the Governing Institute, about procurement best practices and why it’s critical to modernize your procurement processes.
