Has anyone attempted to manually /with the aid of scripts carry out discovery on Ali-Cloud, including event based discovery?

If so, do you have any tips on how to proceed?

thanks for your response, 

The use cases centre around populating of the CMDB (horizontal and vertical discovery) with the view to implementing ITSM, ITOM processes.  For example, ensuring that the relevant approvals can be given by using the Change Management process for any intended changes on the cloud's platform. Thus we will rely on the CMDB being the single source of truth for all provisioned cloud services.
