Searching for answers to your questions is a lot more productive than waiting for the answer to fall out of the sky, right? So, we picked a platform for the new product documentation site that provides a powerful search engine to help you find answers quickly.
Our soon to be released product documentation site allows you to use the Boolean search operators AND, OR, NOT. Plus, search supports the NEAR operator to help you find words near each other. By default, NEAR finds terms within 10 words of each other, but you can specify the distance by adding a number. For example, terms only 3 words away would be NEAR/3.
You can also use the prefix search to find everything that starts with the letters you enter. For example, a search on "sco* appl*" will find "scoped applications." The search engine supports word stemming. If you search on "configure," the search engine will automatically look for "configure," "configures," "configured," "configuration," etc.
The search results page has changed. On the new site, you'll be able to see snippets that match your search string to help you pick the topic to view.
Here is how the experience will look like:
- Enter a search phrase.
- Results display. The terms matching the search phrase are in bold.
- Select a result to view. The topic view shows all character matches in yellow.
- To toggle search highlighting on and off, click the highlight icon.
Stay tuned. The new product documentation site is coming soon! To see what else we have planned check out:
