Every week I am lucky enough to spend time with some of our amazing customers. While many of you know a lot about using our applications and building custom applications on the platform, there is a thirst for information about our cloud - everyone seems to want to know about the silicon and aluminum that makes up our cloud. After all, cloud computing is not made by mixing hot and cold air together... there is real rock and metal involved
Given this feedback, we spent some time over the past few weeks adding content about The Enterprise Cloud on our corporate website. A few factoids:
- With our multi-instance architecture each and every instance gets their own application logic and database process
- You can protect data at rest in your instance using field encryption or our unique Edge Encryption
- We operate 16 datacenter clusters in 8 global regions with fully redundant power and devices throughout
- We perform 8+ billion monthly database transactions (actual CRUD operations)
- We use ServiceNow workflow (no surprise there!) to power our Advanced High Availability automation that moves instances quickly out of harm's way
