First off, WELCOME! We are so excited that you are here and to share in your journey to learn more about ServiceNow’s platform and products!

My name is Julie Vittengl and I am the Content Architect for the Content and Portfolio team within the Training and Certification organization.  It may sound funny, but I spend much of my day working with others to make our training content findable and usable!

On this blog, we’ll be sharing exciting news and updates about Now Learning, the courses we are developing for you, new learning paths, certifications, and new features. You will also find stories about Now Learning curriculum and community developers and tips for getting the most out of your Now Learning experience.

We want you to have a strong voice in our community, so please comment on these posts to share and discuss things that you find interesting with us and with other learners. We can’t wait to hear from you!

Finding the training you are interested in.

There are a few ways to explore content on Now Learning. I will be reviewing the ways to filter through the various courses and other types of content available to you.

Let’s start with the basics:

  • Courses are trainings offered in either a live classroom setting, live in a virtual classroom or on-demand at your own pace.
  • Paths are one or more trainings that are recommended to be completed in a certain order to achieve a level of mastery.  Often paths result in a certification.
  • Certifications are exams that allow you to validate your ServiceNow knowledge.  Earning a certification demonstrates your mastery of the skills needed to utilize the ServiceNow Platform.
  • Simulators allow you to learn by doing!  You can use our simulators to safely practice your new skills on our popular simulator instances.

Now let’s narrow it down – with all this content to choose from it might be a bit overwhelming to find what you are interested in.  Let us help you!

If you want to see what types of courses are offered or see what our Curriculum team recommends for a set of learnings you can browse the catalog of paths and courses.  The filters let you narrow down content by your role, the course or path level, product category or other interests.

  • find_real_file.pngRole - Want to find the training that is just right for you and your job?  Use the Role filter to narrow available courses and paths to what is most relevant to you.
  • find_real_file.pngLevel – It does not matter if you are a beginner, new to ServiceNow, or an advanced practitioner – we have got you covered. Select a level to browse content by how advanced it is.
  • find_real_file.pngProduct - Has your company made a significant investment in one of our products?   Maybe you are just curious about the features and functionality of a specific product.  You can browse all our offerings based on the product area to which they are aligned by making a selection from the Product filter.

Let’s try it out – Say your employer has just purchased the Customer Service Management application and as part of the Implementation team you want to know where you should start.  Finding relevant courses is as easy as selecting a few filters.  For Role select Implementer, for Level select Beginner, and for Product select Customer Service.

Applying these filter choices brings back two pieces of content, Customer Service Management Fundamentals and How to get CSM Professional Certified.  The first item returned would be the best choice for you to get started on your journey to learn more about Customer Service Management Fundamentals!
