Earlier this month I visited a customer in Phoenix, Arizona. I rented a little red car with a black interior, and made the mistake of leaving the windows rolled up tightly. During the day the temperatures reached over 105 °F. When I got into my car to drive back to the hotel, I had to jump right back out — every surface in that car was hot enough to fry flesh. I swear I heard my hands sizzle when I touched the steering wheel! I opened the doors and let things "cool off" to a comfortable 110 °F or so. Yikes!
Dave H., who lives and works in Phoenix, sent this photo along. It perfectly illustrates how I felt while I was waiting for my car to cool down...
