We are releasing in the Innovation Lab our new Security Center application to help instance Admins keep their instances as secure as possible.
This app is intended to replace the Instance Security Center app in the future (subject to future roadmap decisions) and will provide better user experience and more functionality.
** Please install it from the ServiceNow Store, try it out and provide feedback about what you like, don't like, or wish differently so we can improve it before general availability.
OR feel free to reach out to me, the product manager, at stefano.paoletti@servicenow.com for questions, comments and feedback.
Install "Security Center Labs" from the Innovation Lab in the ServiceNow store.
Note: This app requires the Tokyo family release.
Here are the key features:
- Instance hardening compliance
- Allows you to keep your instances secure by following ServiceNow guidelines for hardening security related system properties and plugins.
- Security scan
- Allows you to scan your instances systematically to detect insecure configurations and changes to your security configurations
- Security metrics
- Allows you to easily monitor your critical security metrics and be notified timely for potential security threats and insecure user behaviors
- Training page
- Single destination to quickly find links to all the important security resources available to you to secure your ServiceNow deployments.

Hey Stefano and Community! I stumbled across this new application when reviewing my weekly ServiceNow Store updates and was intrigued by what I saw in the store description. I've posted a quick review on my YouTube channel that gives a very high level overview of this application. Great work and I'm looking forward to seeing future updates!

thanks for the video on that topic.
Basically that application is just a UI for managing the underlying instance scan checks which have been shipped with that application.
My problem is that we have too many applications like that, often overlapping each other functionally as well. It makes no sense to me to have for example an "Admin Center", a "Security Center" and the "Instance Trouble Shooter" application in parallel.

@Maik Skoddow yes, it would be nice if that roadmap that's mentioned in this article brings all these apps/workspaces together at some point. I like to think that that is the end goal and have even thought about making my own that brings all the admin-y stuff together. Only so much time in the day! 😀

Thank you for the comments. ServiceNow is moving to a single center for Admin to do their tasks. It is call Admin Center and it is not prominently located under "Admin" in the unified navigation in Tokyo.
This is our first version but it will evolve over time.

Sorry, typo in above post; meant to say " ... it is now prominently located ..." , not " ... it is not prominently located ...".

It would be helpful to know which ServiceNow roles are permitted access to the new capability. In previous documentation, the required roles were explicitly specified. Additionally, how do the roles currently assigned that permit access to Instance Security Center migrate to this new capability.
