I need some help with regards to Asset- CI sync
- I have some Physical Server asset records and their corresponding Server CIs that are yet to be synced to each other(the CI names are actual server hostnames). Do these have to be linked manually or can they be linked based on Serial number? How can i run the asset synchronizer to sync them up? and would they sync based on name, serial number or which attribute?
- Some assets are synced with the CIs, however, the name on the CIs is same as the Asset display name (assettag + model), how can i ensure that when an asset is being updated or created, the CI name should be the actual server hostname (which is stored as a custom field on the asset), and not the asset display name?
Note we are not using discovery or servicemapping, just loading CIs via ETL, and asset management is manually entered.
