What is CI Catalog?

I am hearing this word frequently from clients "CI Catalog". What is the meaning and what it is meant for? Do we have any feature called CI Catalog? or it is just a name that was provided generally to request items for Configuration Items? Could you please provide some example on it to understand better.

I haven't heard the naming convention before. Have you tried asking the once utilizing the name what they actually refer to?
