What is up? I created and own the dashboard and it still won't let me modify any of the widgets!! All the widgets were created by me but there is no pencil icon when I go into configuration mode. I've created 25+ dashboards and lots of widgets and never seen this problem. Any ideas??
Guess what? The answer is to make sure you are in the same application you were in when you created the dashboard! ServiceNow throws no errors or warnings, it just hides the tiny edit icon on everything.
Please make sure you set your application to the one you created your dashboard in or you may go bonkers.

Great tip Chris, I've wondered why I couldn't edit the dashboard I created. Unfortunately, I don't have access to developer tools in order to change the Application as described in the articles I've found. Do you know of any work arounds in that case?

What release did you run into this issue in? Dashboards for me haven't been scope-limited so far up to London anyways.

Good to know. Thanks! Maybe system admin gets around that issue somehow (for us anyways). We have a couple of scoped dashboards for a custom app and our HR scoped app.

Interesting. We're on Kingston as well and it happens over and over again to admins who are creating dashboards and using the app picker alot. We have over 30 custom apps...
